Creating a catchy headline is one of the most important parts of writing a blog post as the title or the headline is what comes first then the content.
There are a lot of ways you can use to write a catchy headline but here are the few that I use every time I am writing a blog post.
But before getting into the steps to write the headline let’s see why you should have a catchy title or headline for your blog post.
Importance of a Catchy Title
Basically, the use of a catchy headline is to gain more and more traffic to your blog or website which can bring you profit in return.
We all want traffic from Google and to do that we need to do SEO and a catchy headline is one of the most important parts of optimizing your content for search engine as Google considers click-through rates to determine your position on their search engine.
And to boost up your click-through rates you need to have a catchy headline to Grab the attention of the users and make them click on it.
Social media is another great traffic source and to get traffic from social media platforms we have to Grab their attention at once as they probably will never see that post again.
Social share is another great incentive to work on a catchy headline as the most shares we get on social media the more people will be able to look at our post and bring us traffic.
How To Write a Catchy Title
Now that we have understood why you need a catchy headline, let’s start with the steps that you need to take in order to create a catchy headline that would grab attention and drive traffic to your website.
Understand your Audience
Understanding your audience needs a lot of experimenting cause you will find some people to like some kind of headline Whereas some click on some other headline so you will need to find a soft spot at the middle which satisfies both the sides of the people which will then drive a great amount of traffic to your website.
The best way to experiment with your title is by sharing the same article on your social media with two different titles between an interval of a few days.
This will help you understand what your final headline should be and what will get the most clicks if your articles rank on Google.

As of now, there are more blog post publishing daily than the number of people using the internet.
If we want to get noticed in such a Chaos you will have to do something that will generate curiosity inside the minds of the people and a little over exaggeration in your title helps drastically as it generates a lot of curiosity.
Titles such as ” This health drink will change your life” or ” This exercise will help you lose weight in 10 minutes” generate a lot of curiosity and also get a lot of traffic to the websites.
If you are able to do something similar in your niche then I would highly recommend you to try out as this could get your lot of traffic if it gets shared a lot.
Use Adjectives and Numbers
Adjectives such as Fun, interesting, incredible, free are some of the best words which you can use in your title to make it more clickable.
These words generate a sense of enjoyment in the user’s mind which then generates curiosity which then leads in traffic.
” Fun ways to make money online” or “An Incredible home drink which cuts down fat” are some examples.
Adding numbers to such titles makes it even more intrusive as people find a lot of information on the topic which they love.
“26 Fun ways to make money online” or “10 Health drinks that cut down fat”
These 2 are proven examples of numbered titles which gets a lot of shares and traffic
This is one of the best ways to drive a lot of traffic and traffic to your blog post but it is also really hard to create such articles simply because they should contain a lot of valuable content which people love.
The best way to use the Knowledge Overdose method is in listicle articles as you can find a lot of content on listicles rather than How To’s.
Titles such as “100 Ways to make money online” or “100 apps that gives you discount on shopping” has the potential to get a lot of shares and traffic but it also requires a lot of research and hard work.
These articles don’t really require a catchy headline as their number talks for themselves.
We all suffer the writer’s block one day or other so what I like to do at that moment is to stalk on my competitors and try to get inspiration from what viral content they have.
The best way I found to do it is by using buzzsumo.com.
Once you put in the URL of the website you want, it will show you all the articles that have gone viral and got a lot of shares on each platform.
You can even search according to the keyword you want and Buzzsumo will pull out a list of articles that are related to your keyword and are getting a lot of shares.
The reason why you should do this is that I think the reason that the articles are getting shares is that their titles are good enough to Grab the attention of the people on social media.
When I get what I want, I try to replicate the same headline with my own twist around it to make my original content.
